MED-SPRING: 3rd Brokerage and Venturing Event on Research & Innovation

The 26th-27th May 2016, MED-SPRING organizes in Valenzano (Italy), hosted by CIHEAM-IAMB the event: “3rd Euro-Mediterranean Brokerage and Venturing Event on Research and Innovation“, a regional Euro-Mediterranean event where companies, organizations, entrepreneurs and researchers from different EU and Mediterranean countries participate with the aim of facilitating bridging between research and innovation through the creation of private-public and research-enterprise partnerships. Four “Netkiters” will attend to the event: Selmi Aida (Bio Wonder – Tunisia), Basem Sameh (Green Battery – Egypt), Anoua El Guetiti (Soghyen – Tunisia) and Ahmed Mahmoud (GLabs – Egypt).

The results of NETKITE project

NETKITE PROJECT, developed through a two-years long work during 2014 and 2015, aimed to enhance and improve innovation strategies and to establish an effective transfer process of innovation in the territories concerned, resulting on one side into the generation of new enterprises in strategic sectors for the local economy, on the other side into pathways for introducing and managing innovation into mature productive sectors, creating new professional positions. NETKITE was inspired by Open Innovation philosophy and used Living Labs approach, meant to support innovation transfer in order to make it functional to the growth and modernization of local economic systems and to the generation of new, qualified and sustainable jobs. NETKITE was in particular designed to convey innovation generated in the research labs into the industrial system and promote the mutual exchange among young spin-off companies and more mature enterprises already operating on the market, according to a model successfully implemented in several business incubators and technology transfer bodies in Europe. All the winners of the Netkite Call

On Friday 18 of December, the closure event of Netkite project was held in Palermo. The theme chosen for the event was the “Mediterranean Innovation Attitude” and it was the opportunity to talk about innovation, entrepreneurial ecosystems and local development processes along with entrepreneurs from different countries of the ENPI area, economists, sociologists, researchers and musicians. Netkite at the Final Conference of PR.I.ME Project

Rome_11 decOn 11 of December we were in Rome, at the Final Conference and Capitalization Event of PR.I.ME Project, which aims to encourage cross-fertilisation between regional identities and culture by clustering talents at Mediterranean Basin level. We were there as successful case of project aimed at SMEs creation and development, increasing competitiveness and improving professionalization and employment under ENPI CBC Med Programme  2007 – 2013. Capitalization event in Athens

Schermata 2015-12-09 alle 12.35.36On 15 of December 2015, in Athens, will be held the capitalization event “Economic growth, innovation processes and human capital development in the Mediterranean area”, which will also attend the Netkite project. The event aims at analyzing and discussing key results achieved by the projects financed under ENPI CBC MED Programme 2007-2013, in view of identifying good practices and common valuable approaches. Complementarities and synergies of results achieved among the implemented projects will be highlighted while discussions will also explore how project outcomes can be connected to the development of sector public policies, through mainstreaming actions involving national and regional public authorities. PAUC organizes the NETKITE Dissemination Conference

Schermata 2015-11-23 alle 11.21.54In cooperation with the Community Development and Continuing Education Institute and the Local Employment and TVET council, PAUC organized the NETKITE dissemination conference in Bethlehem as a part of the NETKITE project activities in capitalizing the outcomes. The event coincides with The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) and was considered as one of its main events in Palestine.

The Conference was attended by 100 persons representing the public, private and NGOs sectors that showed a broad spectrum of opinions in supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Palestine. NETKITE philosophy was illustrated jointly with the deliverables, success stories and future work through comprehensive presentations and discussions.

click studio 1The seven NETKITE finalists also had the opportunity to present their startups in presence of accelerators managers, investors and entrepreneurship experts who were impressed by the great role of the NETKITE project in pushing the ideas to the light. Moreover, the finalists – on the margin of the conference— had their own startup booth to exhibit their products and services and build new networks as a result. Consequently, they were offered legal and technical support by Beit Al-Maqdis group of lawyers, Arabreneur, Palestinian Higher Council for Innovation.

The conference guested a Tech talk session presented by Igor Ovcharenko from an international organization called “Seed Stars world” to illustrate the last trends in startups and the opportunities available for entrepreneurs.

Finally, a panel discussion was conducted to wrap up the NETKITE outcomes and success stories in coherence with the new networking opportunities towards building the right ecosystem in Palestine. The panel encompassed representatives from the European Investment Bank, Local Employment office, Arabreneur Accelerator, and Palestine Ahliya University College.

Netkite’s dissemination day in Jordan

tkreem 1During the Dissemination Day of Netkite project, which was organized by ASRT on the 4th of November at Le Royal Hotel, Amman, Dr. Esmat Karadsheh – ENPI CBC Med Program Coordinator in Jordan and Dr. Fahmi Abu Al-Rub – Netkite’s Coordinator in Jordan marked the achievements of Jordan’s Netkite Finalists in its 2015 round. PAUC signs two MoUs within the NETKITE project activities

pauc MousePAUC signed two MoUs with the CDCE-I (sound and light lab) and the MOL local employment office (one-stop-shop lab) in continuation to the NETKITE project activities. The MoUs aimed at opening new networking channels — within the supported territorial thematic sectors — between the parties for the purpose of rehabilitating the mentioned research labs to be open for the research and entrepreneurship activities. Consequently, PAUC started to realize the open innovation philosophy inspired from the NETKITE project.
