With the Kickoff meeting, which will take place on December, the 19th and 20th in Palermo at Arca Consortium, officially starts “NET KITE – Cross-border NETwork to foster Knowledge-intensive business Incubation and TEchnology transfer”, a euro-mediterranan cooperation program supported by ENPI CBC MED, of which Arca is the leader.
The project is carried out in partnership with six organizations from Cyprus, France, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, the Palestinian Territories and two associated authorities of Amman and Bethlehem.
“This project represents another opportunity for the University and the City of Palermo to strengthen the international cooperation in the Mediterranean, in terms of enhancement of knowledge and training of young people to entrepreneurship” said prof. Umberto La Commare, President of Arca Consortium.
This is the second ENPI CBC MED project assigned to ARCA as leader, after STS- MED Small scale thermal solar district units for Mediterranean communities, a strategic project, funded by an amount of 5 milions Euro.
The overall objective of NET KITE is to create a cross-border network, focused on existing or of new activation public/private partnerships, inspired by the open innovation approach and the Living Labs model, to support the innovation transfer, in order to make it functional to the growth and the modernization of local economic systems and to the generation of new qualified and sustainable jobs.
A rich agenda of the two-day meeting: there will be many participations, including the one of Vice-chancellor of the University of Palermo, Pasquale Assennato, as well as the ARCA Consortium Manager, Fabio Montagnino, and many delegates from the partner organizations of the project.
